How to leverage your vegan restaurant website to get more sales in 2026!

website strategy

So let’s discuss some of the important elements to include on your restaurant website, so it works well for your company behind the scenes and drives sales.

1.) It should be simple and easy to use.

One of the best things you can do to your website is making sure the user experience is top-notch. Most food ordering nowadays is done online, so the priority should be making it super easy for your customers to do so.

The number one thing that people expect when they land on your website is to be able to find what they want quickly and easily. I was reading an online review a customer wrote about an experience they had at a restaurant and they gave the business a bad rating because they couldn’t find what they were looking for on their website!

No kidding.. nowadays you’re being judged for the online experience as well as in-person dining.

The definition of UX or user experience is how easy and seamless it is for a customer to move around and use a website.

The primary navigation (header) should be free of clutter, which makes it easy for a customer to take action. If there’s too much going on in the header it can be confusing for the customer, so keep it simple.

So point being, if your website is free of clutter and customers can find what they’re looking for, then it means more transactions are going to be taking place on your website which means more sales.

Another important point when it comes to UX. Make it easy for people to find your menu. If people have to click on a bunch of different buttons to find your menu, then you’re not making it very easy for them to access it which will hurt your sales!

Oh, and did I mention to put your hours of operation in a spot that’s very visible on your website?

During covid people are checking your site first before they go to your storefront, so please, please, please let your fans know when you’ll be open and when you close to keep everyone happy. 😊

2.) Include professional photos of your food.

Be sure to Include vibrant images of your food offerings to entice the people browsing your menu. If people can see what the food looks like before ordering it will help increase sales!

Most website builders have photo galleries you can add, so be sure to use them on your site.

3.) Email newsletter sign-up form and leveraging social media.

It’s important to include a newsletter opt-in form on your website so you can start collecting emails from your customers.

Emailing them and letting them know about specials, events, and important offers will help bring in more business.

Social media isn’t the only way to interact with your customers and email marketing has a higher conversion rate than social media does.

If you’re offering a special cooking class or hosting a workshop or maybe want to send your customers a discount on their next meal, popping into their inbox can be a great way to get the word out.

Be sure to utilize and leverage social media by showing people what you’re cooking up each day, so they’ll see it online and come into your location.

I work from home, so when I’m checking out Instagram and a local food vendor shows up on my feed showing me what they’ve just cooked up, I’m out the door! Instagram stories can be huge in bringing more people into your location.

4.) Online ordering and reservations

It’s becoming a more and more digital world, so it’s important to put your customers first and make it easy for them to order take out with ease and also offer the option to book a table to save them time.

It’s all about giving your customers an easy and simple way to interact with you online, so they’ll keep coming back.

For example; If I’m working and I only have a half-hour lunch break, I don’t want to spend 15 minutes of that time trying to figure out how to place an online order. Ya know what I’m saying?

5.) Set up Google My Business

Google my business is so important to set up for people in the restaurant industry. Many people are searching for “food places near me” and if you set it up then Google will show your business information, and searchers will be able to click on your info and it will take you directly to your website to order.

Adding a few simple yet important elements to your website will help increase sales, keep you ahead of the game, and most important keep your clients happy, which is an equation for a successful restaurant business!
